Pune International Cricket Stadium

The new Cricket Stadium in Pune, known as MCA Pune International Cricket Centre (MPIC) and is still not ready for the IPL season 4, due to some logistics issue. Thats the reason behind Pune Warriors India not playing in their home ground. The Stadium is about to be named after Subrata Roy, who is the chairman and Managing worker of the Sahara Group.

Located at Gahunje, about 25 kms from the Pune City, near Mumbai-Pune Highway at Dehu road,  its about 13 kms from Hinjewadi where we stay. So eagerly waiting for its inaugration and hope to see few matches at the stadium soon. Also heard its being built by London Architects and is one of the best stadiums in India so far. Mumbai Cricket Association is making Pune Stadium as its Headquaters. Its seating capacity is 55,000!!

  • Total constrauction cost of the stadium is Rs 300 Crores

  • Its built in an area of 125000 Sq. meters.

  • Additional 5000 member facility for other sports like Badminton, Squash, Swimming etc

  • Parking facility for 4000 cars and 10000 two-wheelers
